Dr. Josiah Way is the Director of Multimedia Services at California Baptist University, in Riverside, Calif. He holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham UK, as well as a CTS Certification from AVIXA. Joe is the author of the bestselling book, Producing Worship: A Theology of Church Technical Arts and is a regular contributor to Church Production Magazine. He hosts the Higher Ed AV podcast, is co-founder of the Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance, and serves on the Executive Board of the USC Athletics Trojan Board of Directors as well as the AVIXA Tech Manager’s and Diversity Councils. Joe is an Orange County, Calif., native with over 25 years’ experience in education, technical production and the arts, and organizational leadership and management. Over his career, Dr. Way has received diverse awards in the areas of education, the arts, and business.

Minimum equipment requirements, hosting needs, and distribution will all be discussed as well.

Looking to start a podcast for an individual or a church? Have the equipment and desire, but not sure what to do next? Or maybe after podcasting for a while, you’re looking to take the next step. In this session, Joe will discuss how he took his podcast from launch to the number one in his vertical in only four months. He will share some of the tricks of the trade to producing a great podcast and go beyond the gear to discuss storytelling, interviewing, show planning, creating a brand, and connecting to an audience.
