Son of Malchus” is the story of Luke, the writer of the gospel, as he collects stories and interviews that would later become part of the New Testament in the Bible.
Fleeing persecution and death, he rediscovers a story that urges him to continue in his quest for truth.
We shot this project over the course of 5 days at Capernaum Studios in Texas, known for being the location of several seasons of The Chosen TV series.
We used two Komodo X cameras, with Zeiss Standard Speed Lenses (1967) and most of the interview and daylight scenes on a Cooke Varotal 25mm-250mm zoom lens (1984). For lighting, we had a few Aputure 600c lights, and used lots of cinema reflectors from LightBridge to shape the natural light for a natural look.
In all, it took about 20 people to make this film possible for our church Easter service.
