Video 1/5: This video series is the biggest project we’ve ever produced. It includes a trailer to promote our series “Anger City Limits” as well as four individual weekly sermon bumpers. We took a lot of inspiration from old spaghetti westerns in terms of shooting style and production design. Luckily, we have an old west museum in our city that served as a film backlot for the majority of this shoot. That gave us a great foundation to work with. Another crucial aspect to this project was our set shop team. They built a practical sign for us to film…
We wanted this Father’s Day video to be an homage to the action movies of the ’80s. A lot of inspiration came from Rambo and Terminator. It was shot primarily in our studio with a few other locations mixed in. The biggest challenge for this piece was making sure the highly stylized world and the real world scenarios were visually very obvious in what we were trying to convey. Equipment: Canon C200 Tokina Cinema Vista Lenses Kessler Shuttle Dolly Astera Titan Tubes Aputure MCs
This video promoting our series “Worlds Of Warfare III: The Weapons” was all shot in our studio. We wanted to really focus on the weapons in this piece so our set shop built us a weapon rack to display them all on. We utilized smoke to create some atmosphere and really pushed the mood with a high-contrast lighting setup. To achieve the fire effects, we covered the sword blade and the arrow in rubber cement and lit them on fire. Shooting at a higher frame rate also helped push the style we were going for with this piece. Equipment: Canon…
Our Online Christmas Experience during the 2020 lockdown.
I used a cannon c100 mk2, mostly just run and gun trying to capture moments. The biggest challenges were staying ahead of the march, getting close to the speakers without distracting them, and it being crazy hot outside. Also searching facebook profiles for people who took video that day of the speakers so I could get their audio.
“Change is something we all experience. Sometimes is inevitable. Sometimes is chosen. But it is always necessary for beauty to grow.” This video was obviously used around the fall. The concept of it was simple, taking the natural change of nature, and utilizing its colors and beauty to emphasize and encourage people in something we all wrestle with… change. This was all shot with a Zhiyun Crane 3 gimbal and a Sony A7Sii. Everything was shot on the same day to preserve the same lighting a feel. The script of the video was written by me after spending time in…
“As we enter into this new year may we do it with a heart that desires to go deeper. Deeper for the sake of Jesus, for His glory, and His people.” This video was used at the beginning of the year for two purposes. A new series called “Growing Deeper” and an announcement of our church annonucing having two services instead of one. The hope was that people would grasp what TRUE growth is. The key shot in this was when all the people “appear” in the shot to the beat of the song. This was a 5 part split…
The YES Conference is for any high school student who is willing to step into the adventure of discovering who God has created them to be and all He has created them to do. YES Conference will lead a conversation on listening, discerning, and responding to the call of God through diverse speakers, creative sessions, breakout groups, and times of worship. This video is based on Ezekiel 47:9 “where the river flows, there will be life”. The concept of the video was too utilize water as the driving theme of calling. Each theme “Story | Unknown | Bold Love” are…
We concluded a message series about Heaven with a worship night where this video served as the opener. Amanda Lewallen, seen in this video, brought a poem she wrote inspired by the series to our worship director. We had her cut down the poem a bit for time and then had her come in to read it. We had planned on using multiple angles and movement but it all took away from the actual words of the poem. In the final edit we cut it down to this simple one take front-on shot and used the colors, overlays, and music…
