I don’t even know if this video belongs in this category, but this was a simple concept year-in-review video montage of our online video journey with our church during the pandemic. It may have low impact to those not familiar or a part of the church family, but for the congregation I was told it brought tears to many. The biggest challenge was aggregating all of the footage from the entire year, and picking and choosing which shots to go where squeezed in a few minutes. Instead of typically using narration, I tried to focus on the faces of our…
This behind-the-scenes video is all about our church’s 2021 message series “Anger City Limits.” For this particular series, our creative team produced five videos—a series trailer and four sermon bumpers. It was the biggest project our team had taken on to date. As the sermon series progressed, our attendees began to look forward to the weekly videos and the series more and more, so we wanted to give them a look behind the scenes and let them know why we take our creative team jobs so seriously.
We wanted this Father’s Day video to be an homage to the action movies of the ’80s. A lot of inspiration came from Rambo and Terminator. It was shot primarily in our studio with a few other locations mixed in. The biggest challenge for this piece was making sure the highly stylized world and the real world scenarios were visually very obvious in what we were trying to convey. “Change is something we all experience. Sometimes is inevitable. Sometimes is chosen. But it is always necessary for beauty to grow.” This video was obviously used around the fall. The concept of it was simple, taking the natural change of nature, and utilizing its colors and beauty to emphasize and encourage people in something we all wrestle with… change. This was all shot with a Zhiyun Crane 3 gimbal and a Sony A7Sii. Everything was shot on the same day to preserve the same lighting a feel. The script of the video was written by me after spending time in…
“With our eyes we see, we dream, we accept, we hurt. It is easy to get caught up in seeing through the lens of comparison, sensitivity, and the desire to measure up. However, our eyes are to be pathways of love, tunnels on which graces walks and trails on which Jesus lets us see ourselves and others.” I wanted to create something unique. An angle and a perspective that we all see from a day to day basis but probably dont play much attention to. I used a very simple Sony A58 camera with a 50mm lense all recorded in…
Greetings from Trinidad! In December 2020 Our church decided to produce it’s first film / musical production! No budget, all who participated volunteered their time and items they had in their homes to use as props, all filmed with one camera (a canon t4i) and put together in about 3 months! It was challenging to pull of writing a script in a week, working with everyone’s schedules and social distancing 🙁 But we did our best and experienced a level of comradery greater than I’ve ever witnessed before!
This is a sound bite we pulled from one of pastors sermons and created as a stand alone spot. Most of the footage is form Getty images and music is from first com music.
As an educator who fought hard during the recent pandemic, there was a need to bring a fresh lens of hope to the our community, teachers, students, and parents. The Lord directed me use particularly music selections in hopes of ministering not only to students but to the community at large beyond the walls of the church. Since we were not allowed to use the auditorium for our annual dance showcase. the Lord led me to think outside of the box and to film the dance showcase beyond the walls of the stage. This video features CCMS’s wonderful Department of…
