A special event to promote our Christmas Eve services.
This video project was a recap to promote one of the first of many prayer walk series that our church will be doing called Unite NYC. I used the Panasonic Lumix GH5 with the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 + Viltrox Speedbooster on a monopod. I also used the DJI Osmo Pocket and some smartphone shots. Other than using manual focus for all shots on the GH5, shooting this whole event was possibly the hardest shoot I’ve had to do as in order to get footage of the walking congregation from the front, back, and all the different angles, I had to…
For this short, we used a Canon C200, Aputure lighting, and a Dana Dolly. The dolly was a great asset for this project as it helped us enhance the drama of the over-the-top series starter pitch, as well as the ensuing betrayal. Our biggest challenge was coming up with the video itself. We knew the series title was “Bondservant”, and that the pastor would love something in the spirit of a James Bond film, but had no idea how to do that and it be relevant to the text we would be covering during the series. That dilemma eventually sparked…
I don’t even know if this video belongs in this category, but this was a simple concept year-in-review video montage of our online video journey with our church during the pandemic. It may have low impact to those not familiar or a part of the church family, but for the congregation I was told it brought tears to many. The biggest challenge was aggregating all of the footage from the entire year, and picking and choosing which shots to go where squeezed in a few minutes. Instead of typically using narration, I tried to focus on the faces of our…
This behind-the-scenes video is all about our church’s 2021 message series “Anger City Limits.” For this particular series, our creative team produced five videos—a series trailer and four sermon bumpers. It was the biggest project our team had taken on to date. As the sermon series progressed, our attendees began to look forward to the weekly videos and the series more and more, so we wanted to give them a look behind the scenes and let them know why we take our creative team jobs so seriously.
Video 5/5: This video series is the biggest project we’ve ever produced. It includes a trailer to promote our series “Anger City Limits” as well as four individual weekly sermon bumpers. We took a lot of inspiration from old spaghetti westerns in terms of shooting style and production design. Luckily, we have an old west museum in our city that served as a film backlot for the majority of this shoot. That gave us a great foundation to work with. Another crucial aspect to this project was our set shop team. They built a practical sign for us to film…
