In the hight of the pandemic, members of Doha Fellowship, Christian Church in Doha, Qatar filmed themselves from their homes worshiping together with Matt Redman’s 10,000 Reasons. Meetings in person were not allowed. Each family submitted their video singing onto the same track using whatever camera they had, mainly their phones, and Church’s video & audio team assembled the final.
This video was for our online-only service on Dec 26th. The music portions were all tracked at different times in a makeshift studio space we set up in an office. Recording audio in the film location (a large lobby) would not have yielded useable audio. The tracks were all mixed down by a volunteer inside the church using protocols and waves plug-ins.
Tim Babler (worship director) wrote the script. Anthony Catalano developed the visual presentation. We had several people record the reading and we selected the one that fit the tone the best (Ben Workentine, pastor).
The name “GateCity Church” is new. The then New Bridge/IHOP was formed through the mergers of three church bodies over the course of a few years, and the congregation felt divided. Some still holding onto the identity of the past church families, along with new members that had no history. We produced this film to help them cast their church vision, clearly communicate their unique expression of church, and unite their members together under the new church name, “GateCity”. The film was captured primarily on a Z Cam E2-M4, and Panasonic GH5 (for MARTA shots and portrait interview angle). To…
This is a clip from one of our Sunday live streams. It is an original song, sung by the writer, and composed for orchestra by one of our worship team members. The audio was mixed for stream on logic while the video was shot using a mix of Panasonic PTZ cameras and the Sony a7iii through the Blackmagic ATEM software. It was then placed in black and white to emphasize the heart of the singer, the use of shadow and light on stage, as well as how the dissolve transitions blend with the footage underneath.
Filmed live on April 17th. We’ve used 4 SONY PDW-X70 cameras, AVMATRIX video switcher. All camera and audio techs are volunteers in the church and not professionals.
This video was created for our worship opening for Easter 2020. We were in lockdown and no one was coming to worship. It was shot with a Cannon T6 and edited in Premier. Nothing special. We made this film for a 2022 sermon series called Seven. It portrays John the Apostle exiled on the island of Patmos as he writes the seven letters to the churches from Revelation 2-3. We made seven different films (same visuals, different voice over) for the seven different letters. For the visuals, we used the Red Komodo with a 18-35 Sigma photo zoom. It was…
