After a few failed attempts at rehearsal over Zoom, our choir began meeting in small groups during the pandemic. To keep them integrated as a part of the worship, we began to film them in groups of 4. We used two cameras that each had two mic inputs so 4 was our max. We would pre-record the backing track in house with our pianist. The biggest issue we overcame was the matter of synchronizing ~30 filming sessions in a consistent manner; for our summer jubilee we had 58 singers and multiple instruments being record separately. The use of a simple 4 clap before beginning made all the difference in the world. We began to do these videos weekly with the choir with about a one week turn around between filming and using them.
